Omega Movers is a local and top-rated moving company in Northwest Arkansas. We offer a variety of moving services to ensure a seamless move for your family or business. If you need help with a move, but don’t have time to pack and coordinate it, Omega Movers provides full service moves. In a full service move, we handle almost all of the move including packing, loading, transporting, unloading, junk removal, and room staging.  We charge transportation rates for these moves, since we are handling the full move. We don’t unpack your boxes at your new home or business, but we handle everything else! Not all of our customers need that level of service, so we also offer moving labor services.  If you are wanting to move some items into storage, or a piano to a different location, or maybe you need help with packing the moving truck properly for secure transportation, or unpacking the truck at your new residence, Omega Movers can help!  We charge labor rates for assisting with parts of the move such as loading or unloading the moving truck, packing services, furniture assembly and disassembly, junk removal, and moving items to a different location (such as pianos, safes, gun safes, etc.).  For more information or pricing, please call us or contact us. How many times do families or individuals move in a lifetime? How many people move to Northwest Arkansas (NWA) each day?

In 2022, moving within one’s own county is the most common type of move for families, which represents 53% of all relocations. Moves by individuals and families make up 44% of relocations and corporate moves or business moving follow at 38%. In a lifetime, the average American moves about 11.7 times.  Here in Northwest Arkansas, we are one of the fastest growing metros – with about 36 people moving to NWA per day. Benton and Washington Counties have seen the largest population increases. In 2022, Benton County had the highest net migration, followed by Washington county.

What are oversized Items?

Oversized items are usually large or awkward sized personal items that are heavy or harder to move, so we will need more moving crew members to assist with moving the oversized items. Pianos, gun safes, medium to large safes, hot tubs, and pool tables are considered oversized.  Appliances can be oversized – if they are usually a higher end brand and are larger and heavier than traditional appliances, but most appliances are not considered oversized. Omega Movers can discuss your possible oversized items and walk you through the process during a moving quote.  This is why we ask for oversized item information on the quote to make sure we have the proper number of movers to make sure the item is safely and securely moved to a different location, residence, storage area, or business.

What is Omega Movers’ service area?

Omega Movers is located in Springdale, Arkansas. We service the Northwest Arkansas area including Washington and Benton Counties, and these cities – Springdale, Fayetteville, Prairie Grove, Farmington, West Fork, Lowell, Tontitown, Cave Springs, Bentonville, Bella Vista, Rogers, and all of the cities in between. We don’t have a brick-and-mortar location to visit yet but will be adding one in the future. What are local moves?

A local move is when you are moving locally within Northwest Arkansas – such as moving from Fayetteville to Springdale or Bentonville to Rogers. Omega Movers can assist with the full move or parts of the move to help make the move less stressful on you and your family or business.

What are cross-country, long-distance, or interstate moves?

A long distance, cross-country, or interstate move is a move when you move from Northwest Arkansas to another state or area.  Maybe you and your family need to move from Fayetteville, AR to Fayetteville, NC because of a job change or promotion. Omega Movers is experienced with cross country moves from Northwest Arkansas to Michigan, Kentucky, Kansas, California, Colorado, Montana and other states.

Does Omega Movers offer residential moves for individuals or families moving from an apartment, condo, or home?

Yes, we have experience with all types of moves. Omega Movers can help you and/or your family move out or into an apartment, condo, or home. If you have stairs, please let us know so we can account for those in our moving quote.

Does Omega Movers offer commercial moving services?

Yes, we offer commercial moves for moving businesses locally and cross-country. We can move your business into a new location or help you move large or oversized items within your business or to another location. Maybe you have large conference tables that need to bemoved or an extra large sized file cabinet that needs to go to another branch – Omega Movers has you covered.

Why are pianos and gun safes considered as oversized items?

Oversized items are items that are usually heavier or awkwardly sized. Pianos and gun safes are oversized items and require more movers to safely move the item(s).

• Pianos are heavy because they are usually made of cast iron to support the strings within the piano.  Older pianos can weigh more than newer models, especially pianos built in the late 19th to early 20th century. Pianos have about 12,000 parts, 88 notes, each note has 3 strings each – or about 220 to 240 strings – which equals 18 tons of tension. The frame of a piano must be strong to support the load of the strings, so cast iron is used to build the piano frame (since a frame of wood would not be able to hold that weight load). Unless you have experience with moving pianos, we do not recommend it. Please call us so we can professionally move your piano. “The average vertical or upright piano can weigh anywhere from 200-1000 lbs. (91-545 kg). The average baby grand piano can weigh anywhere from 500-600 lbs. (227-272 kg). The average professional grand piano can weigh around 700 lbs. (317 kg), and a concert grand piano can weigh up to 1200 lbs. (544 kg). When measuring the length of grand pianos, you measure from the front of the keyboard with the lid closed to the center of the tail at the back (Longest points with the lids closed).” The measurement of your specific piano will vary by brand and model, but that information helps us plan on the right number of movers to make sure we move your piano carefully and efficiently.

• Gun safes are heavy because they are made of thick steel walls and composite materials, which add weight to the safe but also enhances safety. Double walled construction and fire rated insultation in most gun safes adds a lot of weight to the safe, but it is necessary for security and protection. Heavier safes are generally more secure and harder to steal, cut through, or be destroyed by fire, which protects and provides enhanced security for the guns in the safe. The weight of your gun safe will vary by size (the bigger the safe is, the more it will weigh), steel gauge, layers of fire board, and the design of the safe (brand and model). The weight of a gun safe for a small handgun safe could be 20 lbs., compared to a commercial grade gun safe which could weigh more than 5,000 lbs. Gun safes are extremely heavy on purpose – for security, resilience, and durability. Measurements for safes include width, height, and depth. We need those measurements to make sure we have the proper movers to move the gun safe properly and safely. Unless you have experience with moving a medium to large-sized gun safe, we would not recommend moving it. Yes, for our full service moves – we include packing and moving boxes and materials. If we are just helping you with moving labor, we do sell moving and packing supplies to help you have the right materials to move securely.

What is junk removal or debris removal?

During a move, there is usually packing and moving materials and junk items that need to be thrown away and are not being moved. During our full service moves, this is already included, but can be added as a standalone service or with other moving labor services.
